Quit playing EVE because of that. Excessive death penalty screws over almost every aspect of that game. Thank god for the Guild Wars system of death penality

Just like hard mode it isn't new content it a mode that makes existing content harder and unpleasant to play.
I'm just a big fan of some good added content haven't seen it since Nightfall (DoA)

Sorry that my reply is offtopic but it's just something on my mind.
Um how is hard mode unbarable, set up with a good build and its easy, its doing it with henchies wich is unbearable.......oh wait its still not, but this hardcore mode sounds unbearable i would be devistated if i lost all tho's hours to some mode that wont let me out of an out post if i die, think off all the people that'd get the rocks off on taking some 1 into a mission leaving and getting that person permanently killed and stuck in an out post

Seriously, we have Hard Mode and Survivor titles. What more could you want?

I hate the idea of permanent death. We already have it in real life, don't bring it to gw. Not even optionally.

The "ranking" would only be a contest of who can waste the most time in their lives farming the same monsters every minute to get EXP...

If you want a challenge, Mokone's idea of manual hardcore mode is for you...

I don't like this idea, we already have survivor title, and most people erase their character if they die, if they want the title. And them wanting the title is pretty much attempting this.

I played Diablo 2, put 5 hours into a hardcore character and I died while trying to farm Experience in Trist, all because of lag. I think it'd cause more frustration then fun.

Not to offend you or anything, but if you've only been playing for 3 months and already find the game boring and too easy, you've obviously play way too much, or haven't gained the vanquishing titles and guardian titles.

So you make a character, get to level 20 and fight shiro, but then he all of a sudden he spikes you, and you're dead for good.

I really cant see this being fun to play! Some people take real pride in their characters, and to just loose one which you spent months or years creating would not be fun!

This might work for pvp where characters are ten-a-penny, but in pve it would just create huge frustration. I really see why anyone would put their character in such a risky situation as to actually loose them for good.
